Falcon 9: Will it launch soon?

Falcon 9 at Launch Complex 40

The Falcon 9 is now on the pad at Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral. The original requested launch date was Feb. 2nd but was dropped due to conflicts. SpaceX has not set a formal date for the launch however the date of March 6th has been passed around. The Orlando Sentinel however reorted earlier that the date is most likely to be March 22nd.

“The test launch, tentatively set for March 22, will be the company’s first since Obama spiked NASA’s moon-rocket program in favor of an approach that outsources future human missions to businesses such as SpaceX. If Congress is to be persuaded to adopt Obama’s policy, Falcon 9 must deliver.” – Orlando Sentinel (link to article )
