Gyro recovery in 1949


Great little article from the 1949 Modern Mechanix that illustrates using gyro or as the article calls it “roto-chute” recovery. The article offers this as an alternative to mach busting pilots that need to escape.

    They are running toward a small model.
    I finally was able to imagine it being a large device and saw your perspective. It now makes me laugh.
