On July 20th at Edward’s Airforce base the Dryden X-48B successfully flew. The Boeing Blended Wing aircraft was remotely flown for about a half an hour to an altitude of 7500 feet. This is a remarkable plane utilizing the blended wing which could revolutionize air travel with quieter and higher capacities and better fuel efficiencies.
“The X-48B flew as well as we had predicted, and we look forward to many productive data flights this summer and fall” -Gary Cosentino, Dryden’s Blended Wing Body project manager
for you rocketeers out there …. this design would be a fun glider project!
