Heinlein Centennial

July 7th will be the anniversary of the birth of Robert Heinlein. Many rocketeers have been inspired by the starships in Heinlein’s science fiction. Kansas City(his home town) will be hosting the Heinlein Centennial July 6,7 and 8th. I recently was thinking about re-reading some Heinlein after my VF-261 build. The VF-261 is pattern after the Destination Moon rocket Luna which based on Heinlein’s “Rocketship Galileo”.

Here is an article in The Space Review

Thanks to Terry Dean here are some Heinlein – G.H. Stine connections.

For example, did you know Robert Heinlein(NAR #15)  and G. Harry Stine were lifelong friends?

Did you know that Robert Heinlein and his wife hosted the wedding of G. Harry and Barbara Stine?

Did you know that Robert Heinlein did a dedication to G. Harry And Barabra in his 1958 Book:
Have Space Suit – Will Travel (1958) was “For Harry and Barbara Stine.”
