International Spacemodeling

James Duffy over at Rocket.aero has posted a video from the International Spacemodeling Championships in Baikonur. Curious about learning about spacemodeling? According to the Spacemodeling.org site:
“The Federation Aeronautique International (FAI) is the governing world body, covering not only spacemodeling and aeromodeling, but all aspects of aviation . Each member country is represented within the FAI by its national aero club, which in the United States is the National Aeronautic Association (NAA). The NAA delegates authority for aeromodeling and spacemodeling to the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). The AMA sponsors the US Spacemodeling Team, as well as a number of aeromodeling teams.”

Back in May the NAR and the AMA signed a 5 year agreement to delegate selected responsibilities of FAI Class S (spacemodeling) to the NAR.  You can read the press release from May here.

Visit spacemodeling.org to find out more about spacemodeling competitions and how to participate in the team selection process.
