Need a lift?

A lifting body is a design in which the body of the spaceship produces lift and enables the craft to fly after rentry and land much like the shuttle. NASA experimented with many Lifting Body designs. Among those were the X-24A, M2F2, HL10 and more recently the X-38.

There are two kits currently available that represent the lifting body concept. The Quest M2Q2 Lifting Body and the Quest HL-20. The HL-20 actually uses the lifting body concept and glides to recovery. The M2Q2 looks great but uses parachute recovery.I just finished the M2Q2 kit this past weekend and it had it's inaugural flight yesterday. I followed build suggestions on EMRR(adding nose weight) and had a successful launch and recovery. Here is my M2Q2.
