Chute Happens

Splashdown

About a month ago I decided to start making my own parachutes to replace the cheap plastic things that come with most inexpensive kits. I found that the local fabric store was a treasure trove of materials and suggestions. I purchased several yards of Rip Stop Nylon fabric ($4 a yard) and eyelets ($2 for about 50) to attach the shroud lines. These homemade parachutes work wonderfully and are a great deal more durable than the plastic. Here are a few great parachute sites. Enjoy!
