Back on May 4th Virgin Galactic’s SS2 made its first feathered flight testing the unique feathered flight position of it’s wings. This is another step closer to its first flight into space. Here is the video of that flight.
The SpaceShipTwo is over twice the size of SpaceShipOne and capable of carrying space tourist into sub-orbital space of about 360,000 feet and return. The craft uses aerodynamic design and the laws of physics to do a unique feathered fall to reduce the forces of it’s re-entry into the atmosphere. Then the craft simply glides to a landing.
